Dutch Bij gelegenheid van het zevende-eeuwfeest van het Sint?Janshospitaal te Damme publiceerde de heemkundige Juliaan Opdedrinck in 1951 zijn manuscripten als ?Geschiedkundige aanteekeningen? Het werk is een jarenlang kritisch onderzoek naar het hospitaal, zijn oprichting (met oudste statuten uit 1249), de rol van de zusters volgens de regel van Sint-Augustinus en het bestuur door burgerlijke godshuizen. Ook komt de museumfunctie van het gebouw aan bod: Opdedrinck richtte in 1901 de eerste oudheidkundige zaal in. Het boek bevat ongeveer 125 pagina?s, geïllustreerd met foto?s en kaarten die tot enkele eeuwen vóór de tekst dateren. Samengesteld door een deskundige priester-historicus met scherpe blik; bevat een voorwoord van prof. Strubbe.
