Pages are virtually pristine and intact except for light age toning. Covers are clean and intact overall but have significant splitting and chipping along spine, some darkening, embossed lettering ("Massachusetts") at bottom of front cover, and the small holes along spine. A Very Good copy. This is a collection of printed speeches that were originally given by prominent Oregon politicians and settlers on the occasion of the 3rd Annual Reunion of the Oregon Pioneer Association, a summary of events during the occasion, and a brief biography of Joseph L. Meek (1810-1875) by Mrs. F. F. Victor. The speakers at the event were Matthew P. Deady (1824-1893), James W. Nesmith (1820-1885), George P. Holman (1842-?), and George L. Curry (1820-1878). Each of the speakers honor the Oregon pioneers, many of whom are specifically mentioned by name, and briefly describe the general history of the westward migration to Oregon and its subsequent development. Includes several references to events, songs, and the like that pay tribute to Oregon pioneers. Very brief section on Pioneer Day also included.

This is a collection of printed speeches that were originally given by two prominent Oregon settlers on the occasion of the 4th Annual Reunion of the Oregon Pioneer Association, a poem, and an article. In their addresses, Reuben P. Boise (1819-1907) and John Minto IV (1822-1915) each pay tribute to the Oregon pioneers and briefly describe historical events in Oregon's early history. Also included is a poem by E. Eberhardt in which he commemorates Oregon pioneers and an article by Jesse Applegate (1811-1888) titled, "A Day with the Cow Column of 1843.".

The booklet presents transactions of the Thirty-Third Annual Reunion of the Oregon Pioneer Association. containing the address by Henry H. Gilfrey 1852, of Salem and Other Matters of Historic Interest. Report by Henry H. Gilfrey (pp. 411 - 423) is recorded in Mattes 1177, as is the report by Enoch W. Conyers (pp. 423 - 512) is recorded in Mattes 1138. Gilfrey and Conyers tell us of the trials of the group as they traveled westward. Some old water spotting to the front cover, corner crease to the bottom edge of the front cover, with light wear to the spine ends and fore-edges, internally clean and tight an overall very good copy.
