Soft cover. Condition: Very Good +. Color Photos (illustrator). Not Indicated. Crease on corner of cover, otherwise in like new condition. Swedish artist, Ragna Berlin, is trained in both architecture and sculpture, allowing her to convincingly employ the principals of both. Since 1989, Berlin has explored variations of an ovoid, organic form in many mediums. Playful, and sometimes illusionistic, the work dissolves boundaries between hard and soft, form and space. Her work is reassuring and rich; it softens unwelcome edges and dissolves boundaries between form, light and space. There is also a strong sense of humor in Berlin's work, allowing for suggestive interpretations. Besides the connection between art and architecture Ragna Berlin is also interested in the relationship between art and technology using a highly sophisticated, designed with new cutting edge technology in her robots. Born in Stockholm, Ragna Berlin attended The Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. After working as an architect for six years, Berlin went on to study fine art at The Royal Academy of Art. She has recently exhibited at Bjorn Ressle Fine Arts (New York), Boreas (Brooklyn, NY), Galleri Charlotte Lund (Stockholm), Yoshii Gallery (New York) and the Consulate General of Sweden. Ragna Berlin had two museum shows in Liljevalchs Konsthall and Museum Anna Nordlander and she is having her first solo-show in April 2007 in Gallery Mårtenson&Persson (Stockholm). Ragna Berlin lives and works in New York.
