He has directed research and development programs in academic and industrial laboratories. In 1973, he retired from M.I.T. and came to Santa Fe. As a student in California he spent several summers walking and climbing in the Sierra Nevada. Following his retirement, he has walked extensively in the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez Mountains of New Mexico. Contents in Six Chapters: Jack's Creek to Pecos Baldy, Cowles to Lake Johnson, Iron Gate to Pecos Falls, Jack's Creek to Beatty's, Iron Gate to Valle Largo, and Ski Basin to Lake Catherine & Spirit Lake. Illustrated with maps for each of the trails. For one-day walks no permits are requiredby the Forest Service.
