Publication originale étalée de 1829 à 1837 . 6 volumes in-4 (25,5 x 17,5 cm), respectivement de 374, 465, 480, 472, 457, et 469 pp. reliure d'origine demi-chagrin brun à coins, dos cuir à 4 nerfs ornés de filets avec motifs de feuilles aux extrémités, entre-nerfs ornés d'un cadre de filets gras et maigres, large palette en queue, filets gras et maigres bordant les mors et coins, tranches de tête dorées. Très bel exemplaire en grand papier vélin , quelques rares rousseurs, 2 suites de gravures (6 frontispices et 47 planches gravées d'après F.F. Richard) avant la lettre, dont l'une sur chine. Très bel exemplaire de cette première édition que l'auteur n'a pas vu complète car il mourut à la parution du quatrième tome. Les deux derniers furent complétés par J. Morin. Un "incontournable" pour la bibliothèque d'un érudit de la première capitale de la Gaule. Rare dans cette qualité de conservation.
