Hardcover. Condition: Fair. See photos for condition details hardcover, black cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Interior shows spotting and soiling along with tearing around the corner edges of the upper and lower hinge areas. Interior binding has some issues at the boards: front hinge is cracked as is the rear hinge, though… not as severe. There was also no rear end page - it is unknown if the book was printed this way but the possible missing free end page is the reason for the lower condition grading of fair. Remaining binding of the text pages is good and there are two different books with title pages bound in this edition: the first title page of "Tafsir Ahd-I-Atiq" contains 392 pages., the second is "Ahd I Atio Aur Us Ki Tafsir, Yaramiyah aur Nauhe aur Un Ki Tafsir by Padri T. J. Scott Sahib (1893) 241 pages (633 pages total). The main title page, as shown in the photos, contains a handwritten English translation of the printed text along with "To Rev. B. C(?). Warren, H. Mansell". The front end page has remnants of a something that was penciled in the upper right corner and then erased. There is also a small crease at this area. No other handwriting found in the book, no bookplates, no library markings. Paper is toned due to age and there is some light scattered foxing and spotting present though the end pages and pastedowns show heavy are tanning. This is an extremely rare and unknown publication. Rev. Henry Mansell was a veteran missionary of the Methodist Episcopal Church in India. He was born in Ohio in 1834 and went to India in 1863 and returned to America in 1910. Reverend Mansell died on November 8, 1911 in Bristol, Connecticut.
