The cloth is slightly faded top of spine, matching a chip missing from the dust jacket, the boards are darkened along the edges and there is previous owner name and date (195…9) at the top of the front free endpaper; the dust jacket is uniformly tanned, has a few faint marks on the front panel, there are a few short edge tears, the aforementioned chip (which eliminates the "T" in "The"), and a 1" tear extending onto the rear panel from the spine chip. The original sales receipt from Blackwell Ltd., Oxford, England, dated 1959, is laid-in. Canadian poet's first book.
