Synopsis from Forword: I should like to express my admiration for Mr Pantzer's devotion to the genius of Turner which has inspired his judicious acquisition of the artist's work and selective formation of an integrated collection. Few are fashioned with such wise attention. Finally, we wish to thank Mr Pantzer for allowing us to use his notes for the catalogue entries as well as the section devoted to expressing the characteristics of Turner's style.
