Begins (with manuscript text in square brackets): '[20th.] Day of [Dr.] 17[54.] | Received by us Edmund Britiffe, Edmund Anguish, and George Grimston, Paymasters of Exchequer-Bills of [The Honble Philip Lord Hopton] One of the Four Tellers of the Receipt of His Majesty's Exchequer the Sum of [Three Thousand Five hundred Pounds] | (in Part of an Order under the Hands of the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury, bearing Date the [24th.] Day of [July] 17[54] For the Sum of [250,000] to satisfy and discharge Principal payable on the like Sum in Exchequer-Bills [.]'.
