A FIRST EDITION, first printing, from 1939, this octavo (6" x 8.75") has orange cloth-covered boards elaborately decorated with a sailing scene in black that wraps around spine, lettered in black. Condition is Good: binding strong & hinges secure, but with a slight rightward lean. Pages creamy white with moderate tanning, unmarked except MANY soiled spots & smudges scattered randomly throughout text. The ffep has a plot summary, likely clipped from the missing DJ flap, pasted down, with some crayon & pen notations to both front endpapers. Exterior is colorful, with mild fading & soil. NO DJ.
