Ex libri of Comte H. de la Bedoyere on front pasted endpaper., The beautifully illustrated volumes highlight achievements of France, predominantly, but not solely of a military nature, and their effects on surrounding regions during the periods of the reigns of Louis xiv, the French Revolution, and Napoleon Bonaparte, depicting famous battles, both victories and defeats, between 1643 and 1802. , Size : folio (530x360mm)., Vol 1: Illustrated title, and 19 plates in two states each, after designs by Martinet along with 4 of Martinet?s original sepia water colours (200x320mm) signed by him.
