A thriller with fantasy elements about an anthropologist's experiment in bringing a man from a primutive tribe and unleashing onm Book label of the author Peter Haining on 1970s New York. (Peters was a pseudonym, one of several.) Newspaper cutting inscribed by Haining: 'The Savage Comes True! The Times July 2nd 1981'. The newspaper story tells of a man who was robbed of everything, including his clothes, he was then chased by a gang through the streets of New York before meeting his death - very like the plot of PH's novel. Peter Haining (1940 Ğ 2007) was a prolific writer and editor on subjects ranging from crime and horror to witchcraft and fantasy. He became Editorial Director of the New English Library publishing house. Dust jacket very slightly creased and a little wear at head of spine. VG.[SOLD WITH] A 14 page summary / pitch typed by Haining and withseveral pages in his handwriting. AlsoThe 206 page foolscap typed manuscript of the book, some top copy with the occasional correcting in the author's hand and some carbo + te 147 page filmscript for Cupid Productions London SW7 (1976) written by Haining under the name Michael David Fox and at that time called "Charlie Savage." Alos included are the original contracr and correspincdence with New Engkish Library and lawyers. Very slight edgewear to dust jacket; very good. Signedes.
