Near fine with an ink gift inscription on the pastedown, a stamp on the first page and waviness along the spine gutters in a price-clipped near fine dust jacket with a rubbed foil publisher's sticker on the spine and a short tear with accompanying creases at the crown. An uncommon African-American children's book about a group of boys who learn their lesson after accidentally starting a small fire in the basement of a house.

Ted Pontiflet 3-25-79" and at a later date: "Baby, You 'worked' hard for this one. Tee Hee, and you deserve it. Love you. Ted. 8-25-85." Children's book by an African-American author and artist. Very uncommon.
