    Cloth Bound Boards. Condition: Very Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Hans Tisdall (illustrator). Limited Edition. 1958 first edition. Limited Edition signed by the author and illustrator. Size 12mo, 7.5" tall, 253 pages. Olive cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the spine and a gilt vignette illustration to the front cover, bevelled edges, pales orange paste-downs and end-papers printed with family trees, top page edge dyed red, with the dust jacket which is made mainly of glassine with paper inside flaps and a printed title label to the front panel. Book condition very good plus, slight rub to corners, spine slightly faded, contents are nice and clean. Dust jacket condition good, price has been clipped unfortunately and there is a 11x4 cm piece of the glassine torn and missing from the front panel. Number 230 of a limited special edition of 250 copies , signed by the author and the artist, of which only 200 copies are for sale. A humorous journey through the First World War, Position at Noon traces a long line of charming and hapless men back through seven generations - each one revisiting the sins of his father.
