One large colour lithographed poster, sized 26 x 40.25 in., on a thicker paper stock than the American issue, with sharp bright original colour, no age toning, closed tears, or other age imperfections of the era, archivally mounted on linen backing sized 30 x 44.25 in. First European issue of this iconic poster touting the Century 21 Seattle World's Fair in 1962, for the French & German travel agencies, interested institutions, and businesses. The Century 21 Commission had secured a certification from the International Bureau of Expositions, and the Space Needle conceived by Ed Carlson, designed by architects Jack Graham, John Ridley and Victor Steinbrueck transformed the Seattle skyline. This poster features the Federal Science Pavilion (later the Pacific Science Center), the Alweg Monorail in the fore-ground, with the Space Needle pointing towards the stars. This rendering does not include the paint scheme which would adorn the Space Needle for the run of the Fair in 1962. Duff (1927-2009), was a World War II Navy veteran, and successful Canadian-American Seattle commercial artist who worked for John "Jack" Graham who produced the final saucer design of the Space Needle, at the John Graham & Co. Architectural & Design firm in Seattle. Duff may have collaborated as well on several of the other conceptual architectural renderings for the Fair from the firm, but unlike this poster, bore no Artist's initials, or name.
