Stan Potts has been a legendary figure in the state of Idaho and its great River of No Return Wilderness country for more than five decades. In Look Down on the Stars, his second book, Stanley Potts delves into more rich detail of the incredible life he's lived in the remote land of the America West -Idaho and Nevada in particular- and shares many stories, including a few hair raising ones, of his many escapades growing up in and spending a lifetime in the back country. He became one of the country's most famous bighorn sheep guides and shares some stories out of those experiences in Look Down On The Stars. However, he also brings the reader along with him with humorous and heart warming stories about how this great land shaped him as a youth, as a young man, and then an adult, who in turn, helped shape ways for people to get into this wild land and enjoy it as much as he does. In addition, his dedication chapter pays tribute to an incredible lady, his mother, Sarah Gray Potts, with a series of stories that, if they had stood alone, would have made this book a winner. This copy inscribed "To Dennis Campbell with my best regards. Stanley Potts". Dennis Campbell (1951 to 2018) hunted every available continent, and in his more than 50-year hunting career took some 500 different trophy animals. He had more than 400 trophies entered in the Safari Club International record book (a few of which were entered as world records) and had earned all of SCIs top awards, including the World Conservation and Hunting Award. He was inducted into the Pantheon of International Big Game Hunters in 2014 as one of only four people at the time. The Pantheon is the most prestigious big game hunting award in the world. He considered himself more a conservationist than a hunter, and served as a director for the Alabama Wildlife Federation, and as executive director of the Grand Slam Club of North American Sheep Hunters (now Grand Slam Club/Ovis (GSCO). Hence, a unique association copy. Signed by Author.
