Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. A Good only copy of this hard to find Nineteenth Century volume. Original brown cloth with no title on spine; spine crown cloth just starting to fray. Overall lightly rubbed and smudged, but very tightly bound. Interior pages have moderate scattered foxing overall (several pages heavy foxing) and all pages feel "wavy" - apparently in a damp atmosphere as NO water marks. Noted on title page: ' Preface and Notes by Mrs. Foot' and 'From the Third London Edition'. Copyright page has published year same as date on title page, making this a first American edition. Previous owners name on both front blank pages. Rear blank free-end-paper has an approx.1" closed tear (no paper loss). A fabulous and interesting "parenting guide" from the Nineteenth Century. Approx. 7" tall x 4". An eleven (11) page Appendix at rear. Hard to find title. 174 pages. Protected in an archival mylar slip.…

Hardcover. Condition: Poor. First Edition. "Dr. Masterman's book furnishes fresh and notable contributions to our knowledge of so famous a region. it is richly stored with facts; it is lucidly written; and cannot fail to prove alike valuable to the expert and interesting to the ordinary reader. The reader will find a lucid account of Galilee as a whole, its structure, frontiers, divisions, natural products, the resulting characters of its people's life, and its place in history. Will both stimulate and control future discussion of a region which is not only full of many topographical problems but presents these to us in close connection with some of the greatest events of all history." - Preface. xv, [1], [2]-154 pages. Index. Maps. Black and white reproductions of photos. Former library copy with usual markings. Above-average wear to publisher's navy cloth. Front hinge open. A worthy reference copy of this informative and fascinating work. ; Sm 4to.…
