Ce protestant angevin attaché à la maison du Duc d'Anjou, s'approche dans la forme des Essais de Montaigne, bien qu'il s'en écarte sensiblement, étant plus pieux que sceptique. Son ouvrage n'en est pas moins révélateur de l'esprit humaniste de la fin du XVIe siècle français. Un agréable exemplaire en vélin à recouvrement d'époque. Livre ancien.
