Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. SIGNED AND RARE THUS. Rightly regarded as a classic, this first part of a great writer's life has enormous freshness and an everlasting relevance to all aspiring writers. Lovely illustrated wraparound jacket by Mosley, although it is a bit damaged; a… half inch tear at the top left of the front panel, some tiny chippings at the top of the spine; but considering this is a laminated 1968 jacket it really is not too bad, and it is protected now. The price is not clipped and nothing 'live' is affected. The book itself has a slight lean, and the spine of the binding is creased slightly at the top. All corners are firm and unbumped. There are no inscriptions, no ownership names, and no damage to the text block. Very Good sounds worse than it turns out to be, because the impression of this book in the hand is clean and tight. The three photographs at the end of the book are true first printings with no wear to the plates, which is one of the reasons a first printing is sought after. Signature on the title page. Utterly collectable. 0.0 0.0 0.0. Charles Mosley (cover) (illustrator). Signed by Author.
