Although the title refers to St Paul's shipwreck on Malta c.58AD, the depiction of Valletta is contemporary, with geometric defensive walls. Published in ''Het algemeen groot historisch, oordeelkundig, chronologisch, geografisch, en letterlyk naam- en woord-boek, van den gantschen H. Bijbel'', a Dutch edition of Antoine Augustin Calmet's encyclopaedic dictionary of the Bible and its times. Putter is better known for his architectural engravings; this is the only map listed in Tooley's Dictionary.
