Hauptkommissar Arne Bock fuhlt sich durch das LKA in die Irre gefuhrt. Er gerat in familiaren Konflikt mit seinem Grossvater, einem ehemaligen NVA-Offizier, der als Vorsitzender der Burgerinitiative ,Gegen Deichruckbau" offenbar auf der Seite des gefluchteten Burgermeisters steht. Joachim Walter begreift erst, als er entfuhrt wird, dass seine Vergangenheit ihn eingeholt hat. Eine Katastrophe bahnt sich an, denn wahrend eines Sturmhochwassers soll der Deich zerstort werden. Die Plane dazu stammen jedoch aus dunklen Zeiten.

I want to show that there is a common ground where the ideas and the rhetoric of these seemingly contradictory characters meet, which supports the idea of an overaching truth within the minds of the American people.
