The RAND Palestinian State St…udy Team was a multidisciplinary group from the RAND Corporation that produced influential research, notably the 2005 monograph Building a Successful Palestinian State and its follow-up The Arc: A Formal Structure for a Palestinian State, offering policy recommendations for governance, infrastructure (like "The Arc" transportation corridor), security, health, and economic development to ensure a future Palestinian state's viability and prosperity, funded by private donors like David and Carol Richards. The team analyzed political, economic, social, and environmental challenges, proposing solutions for governance, security, water, health, and education. A critical mass of Palestinians and Israelis, as well as the United States, Russia, the European Union, and the United Nations, remain committed to the establishment of a Palestinian state. The authors, examine in objective fashion the requirements for creating and maintaining successful statehood during the first decade of Palestine's independence.
