Seller: Michael Pyron, Bookseller, ABAA, Conshohocken, PA, U.S.A.
Unbound. Condition: Very Good binding. Folio. 5, [1] pp. Confederate imprint. Never bound. Outer leaves are evenly toned; old folds; light edgewear, but generally, a nice copy. As a border state during the Civil War there was deep ambivalence at the outset of the Civil War. Sympathizing with the South, Randall wrote these lyrics in 1861. It would become one of the anthems of the Confederate cause and was the Maryland state anthem from 1939-2021. Parrish & Willingham identify 10 Confederate imprints, this present copy being consistent with 7243.
