Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. A STUNNING AND EXCEEDINGLY RARE Fashion Catalogue, AU BON MARCHE PARIS 1913 - Costumes et Confections. It has a French Text, and measures 11.5ins. x 7.5ins., and consists of 64 pages, including the cover. Each page is copiusly and beautifully illustrated. Being a Century old, it is in only 'very good' condition. It was obviously a working copy, with some annotations in pencil and one small picture cut out. One page is loose, and another has two silk fabric swatches still pinned to a page. This adds to the appeal of this catalogue. It is an evocative period item and a source of authentic and genuine research material, which must appeal to those in theFashion world, or Film and TV production. A wonderful source of information about womens formal clothing, day wear, millinery, evening wear, underwear, chemises, shawls, and coats. At the back are illustrations about how to measure for the clothes, how to fit them, and a section on young girls and children. How many of these ephemeral catalogues can have survived? This is a remarkable guide for anyone interested in pre First World War Paris fashions, and despite the tiny faults mentioned I imagine this will interest many collectors of fashion ephemera. Needless to say, this is VERY RARE INDEED. Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng.
