The life of Subhas reads like a thrilling saga of most dramatic events. Subhas was truly the greatest hero of India's struggle for freedom. Subhas Chandra Bose was born on 23 January, 1897 at Cuttack in Orissa. Subhas was almost hypnotized by Swami Vivekananda's teachings "seek your salvation in the welfare of humanity." He had found his ideal to which he could devote his whole being. He graduated from the Calcutta University and qualified for the Indian Civil Service.
