Soft cover. Condition: Good. Front and back covers very lightly soiled; the back cover is also lightly foxed (tan spotted). There are some light water stains along edges of back cover, in the lower left corner of the front cover, near the spine near the bottom of each page and in other places here and there. Pages and covers show minor wrinkling or waviness from humidity here and there. Aside from the above, pages are clean. Most have mildly bent or creased cover corner tips. Binding is tight and sturdy; light wear to edges of red cloth boards, illustrated plate on front board bold, paper title plate on spine toned with some very mild rubbing, text bold and clearly legible; text and illustrations remain clean and crisp throughout; previous owner inscription on blank second front end page. No dust jacket. Bishop was an American illustrator and commercial artist, perhaps best known for his illustrations in an edition of Moby Dick also published by Harcourt in 1933.
