Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Excellent example of the many college and university humor magazines of the mid century period, here eight copies from small liberal Occidental College in Los Angeles. About 30pps each, ads (especially celebrities smoking cigarettes). Cartoons, jokes, slightly risqué but nothing pol…itical so as to lose license (as happened to later magazines such as Scop at UCLA). Satirical stories about cheating, Canterbury Tales, fraternity rushing, Spillane, Alice in Wonderland, heroes, witches, hard times at Occidental, sociology of love, The Great Batsby, school map, dormitory social life, orientation, undercover spies, etc. Mostly NF. Redack and others pursued film writing careers, became magazine illustrators. Terry Gilliam (later on) wrote and designed for the magazine and used experience for later inclusion in Monty Python troupe of London 1960s. Issues-1951-53, a very relaxed, apolitical college period.
