Add to basketPaperback. Condition: Good. No dj. First Edition. Privately printed pamphlet being the record kept of an address delivered on August 9th at the Guildhall. The date can only be further refined by noting this was a Tuesday. Based on notes kept by a reporter of the Bath Chronicle, and printed for distribution at the request of thos…e present. The print and general feel suggest sometime 1900 or perhaps earlier. Arthur Macleane had recently been appointed headmaster, so that should refine the date further. It has survived remarkably well though with much brown foxing freckles throughout. Size: 12mo.

Contact seller4-star sellerFull Calf. Fourth Edition. Lovely full tree calf binding, with gilt armorial centerpieces, different ones on the front and rear boards, and gilt devices on spine that while employing swags and vase shapes one associates with neo-Classical ornament, are certainly not run-of-the-mill for this sort of book. 8vo. 22 by 14.5 cm. xxxv…ii, [1], 692 pp. The plays are printed here in their original Greek, but with copious footnotes in English, printed in tiny letters and often consuming more than half the page. Front board is heavily rubbed with some starting. Rear board more moderately rubbed. Binding otherwise stunning. Text block tight and clean.
