Softcover. Condition: Good. Oblong small quarto measuring 12" x 7.5". String-tied black paper boards, lacking the front board. Contains 25 sepia-toned gelatin silver photographs measuring between 2.5" x 3" and 3" x 5" with captions. Good only album lacking the front board with chips and tears on the pages with very good photographs. A photo album compiled by a students for a reverend at their school in South Boston, Virginia in the 1930s. An early page includes a handwritten dedication which reads, "we, the Junior-Senior class, do affectionately dedicate this volume to the Reverend Robert White Kirkpatrick, our director, who has unselfishly striven to endow us with a knowledge of the Holy Bible and the ideals, and to whose faithful and untiring efforts is due the success of this school." A photo of Kirkpatrick is included here as well as the First Presbyterian Church, South Boston, Virginia. Other photos include the assistant director, Reverend Frank C. Riley and a photo of the faculty. The pages include class rolls, class mottos, and teacher's names as well as photos to accompany the lists. Included in the album are classes from kindergarten through the senior class. The final two pages show snapshots of students and teacher on the school grounds. The church which had been founded in 1877 and started educational programs in 1920. A modest but interesting collection of a rural Virginia educational program run by a beloved reverend.
