Original Wraps. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket, as Issued. First Paperback Edition. An early eleventh printing of the first paperback edition. Pan X236. Originally published in 1959 with different cover artwork - reprinted once the same year and then in 1960 with new cover art - reprinted with this cover seven times between 196…0 and 1963 before this eleventh printing which featured the excellent 1950s style cover art by Pat Owen, predating the Raymond Hawkey film tie-in covers of the 60s. ***Very good in colour illustrated card covers. The edges and corners of the covers show some light rubbing and creasing, commensurate with age and handling over the last 60+ years but are generally very clean and largely undamaged. No splits or tears, but there is a crease to the bottom corner of the back cover. All surfaces clean. No spine lean and spine straight - no reading creases. Page block edges tanned and foxed. Covers bright. Internally also very good with no inscriptions or annotations. Hardly any of the foxing and browning that is usually found with paperbacks from this period - the interior pages are clean. The cheap paper stock is lightly tanned as usual. No creases or tears. ***178mm x110mm. 208 pages. ***'SMERSH is the Soviet organ of vengeance - of interrogation, torture and death - and James Bond is dedicated to the destruction of its agents wherever he finds them. ***But, in its turn, the cold eye of SMERSH focuses on James Bond, and far away in Moscow a trap is laid for him - a death-trap with an enticing lure!' ***'Mr. Fleming's tautest, most exciting and most brilliant tale.' (Quote and review quote taken from the back cover) ***An early eleventh printing vintage paperback edition of "From Russia with Love", with the iconic 1950s style cover art, in very good original condition, with only minor faults, as described above. Uncommon in this condition. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc. Rex Archer (Cover art) (illustrator).

Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Dr. Rex J. Fleming received his B.S. degree from Creighton University with a major in mathematics. He later obtained a M.S. and Ph.D. from the U. of Michigan in the field of Atmospheric Science. He has over 50 years of experience in weather and climate research. His Ph.D. thesis involved the study… of energy interactions within the atmosphere and a stochastic dynamic method of improving our understanding of those atmospheric interactions in light of uncertain initial conditions. The world is in chaos now due to the deliberate false theory that our climate is being warmed by the use of fossil fuel. Many countries are deeply concerned with energy issues -- will there be enough energy resources available to keep people warm through the coming winter periods There have been many previous exaggerated claims that climate change warming was bad for mankind. The opposite is true --- warmer periods have been very beneficial for humankind. The latest claim from the United Nations (UN) is that the world will burn up with a 5-alarm fire unless the world stops using fossil fuel by a critical date is almost comical -- but one cannot laugh as this false theory has now reached a very serious point - there are no efficient alternatives to fossil fuels and a cold regime is coming! Not every year in a cold regime is severe, but in the coldest periods deaths may result if energy is not sufficiently available. Weather and the climate are chaotic! There is rarely a sharp line between the end of a warm period and the start of a cool period. There can be a discernable transition -- between the end of a warm period and the beginning of a cold period, hence the title of this book! A three-year transition was seen at the end of the Medieval Warming Period (900 AD - 1300 AD) and the beginning of the Little Ice Age (1303 -1850) during which millions died of starvation from famines. This current cold climate transition is described in this book. Will there be a 4th year of transition or the actual start of the Modern Cooling (2023 -- ).While there is considerable information contained in this book, perhaps the single most relevant point is formulated in Chapter 10, page 90. Here we have the summary of the important physical evidence, the appropriate statistical data, and the effects of chaos rolled into a single statement about the next severe cold period likely occurring in 2030 +- 4 years.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The reader is about to embark on a tutorial journey through a series of nonlinear dynamic systems that contain a rich tapestry of phenomena and solutions. The study of nonlinear systems can be greatly enhanced by the combined use of… the stochastic dynamic equations and Monte Carlo calculations. When a dynamic system is forced and dissipative all the trajectories tend toward a bounded set of zero volume - often a strange attractor with a fractal dimension. The stochastic dynamic equations can directly reveal the statistical moments of the system, but their direct solution is inefficient, and they are not a closed set. The power of the combined method is that the time averaged Monte Carlo moments will agree exactly with equations described by the left hand side of the full stochastic dynamic equations set to zero - no closure is required. Every equation expresses an exact relationship among the variables. One is able to delve far deeper into the nature of the nonlinear systems. This tutorial exposition offers the tools for the past nonlinear modeling efforts in the traditional physical sciences and in various complex modeling problems in new fields of biology and health sciences. 144 pp. Englisch.
