(40), 471 (1); (4), 620 (4) pp.Two titlepages printed in red and black with woodcut title-vignet (Luctor et emergo), with woodcut city arms and 36 woodcut portraits of the earls of Zeeland in the text. Some pages slightly waterstained. Vellum binding repaired. First flyleaf at edge repaired with papertape. Former owners stamp on titlepage (not disturbing), a few annotations in old hand. Marcus Zuerius Boxhorn (1612-1653) studied philosophy, law and history in Leiden. He became professor in the same city and in addition to his historical works he edited text-critical editions and Latin poems.
