This superb set of two volumes is finely bound in later full gilt vellum with silk ties, new endpapers, TEG, (Top Edge Gilt), deckled (other edges untrimmed or rough cut). Stunning binding is thus in very near fine condition, only very slightly age mellowed, exceptionally bright. Internally, slight typical offsetting from brown plate mounts to adjacent pages, which is noted on every copy of this magnificent edition, occasional slight spotting consistent with age, as typical, mostly to pages in proximity of brown mounts, otherwise both volumes, the textblock and tissues bright, clean, unmarked, without any creases of thumbmarks, flawless lithographs. There are 64 full colour lithograph plates in all, inclusive of frontispiece in each volume, all accounted for and all in perfect condition, under titled tissues.
