Exterior shows spotting and scuffing along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Top of spine shows tearing to the cloth. The internal binding of the text pages is tight but the front hinge is cracked in the rear hinge is starting. Pages are toned/darkened due to age and type of paper used but pages are clean. The only handwriting found in the book is at the top of the second front end page where "Pa-Lancaster, 1893" is lightly written in pencil. No other markings noted, nothing torn or loose, no library markings, no bookplates, no other handwriting found. This book is a collection of newspaper articles written by the journalist Robert Risk and contains "sketches of country scenes and ways" written for the young men and women of Lancaster County and contains a collection of poetry, stories, and personal philosophy.
