The original book was published in 1804 a year after Ritson's death, and then the book was taken apart and rebound as a larger book with additional manuscript notes between 1804-1820. These are meticulous and unique handwritten notes by Charles Butler (1750-1832) and Richard Preston (1768-1850). Joseph Ritson (1752-1803) had joined the practice of Ralph Bradley (1717-1788) before moving on to London. Pages 1-118 concern conveyancing with 78 pages of additional notes by Preston and Butler, and pages 119-147 involve the deed part of the book. Hard cover with original leather bindings which show moderate wear and rubbing, the spine hinges show early splitting and the front board is held together by the original string ties. The gilt title Ritson on Conveyancing is within a maroon frame on the spine. On the front cover is a much faded previous owner's name - W H Brewer. Overall the book is in good condition. Further information readily available if required.
