This is an intimate portrait of the Skeena river drainage, describing its history of Indian fishing, commercial fishing and the sport fishery. The author is a retired fisheries biologist who administered the steelhead runs on the Skeena. Steelhead are in trouble and the book describes the obstacles standing in the way of their recovery - and the way forward to restore and protect the runs.
