Hardcover. Condition: Good. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original red cloth boards blind stamped with gilt to spine. Exterior shows quite a bit of edge and corner bumps, corners are worn through and extreme top and bottom edges of spine are missing and torn. Internal binding is good, no hinge cracks. Pages are to…ned due to age and foxing is present throughout. A couple of pages had the upper corners folded but these have been straightened out. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found.

The text is unmarked but has some light soiling. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York (Astor Place). There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.
