Bumped corners and the spine tail well-bumped with a short crease front and back.; Written in jagged thoughts and stark imagery, this book features sixteen poems from Alden A. Nowlan (1933-1983), prolific Canadian poet, novelist, and dramatist. One of a limited edition of 300, designed and printed letterpress on watermarked, laid paper by Robert V. Rosewarne at his Blue R Hand Press, Ottawa. Rosewarne, also an artist, created striking, abstract polychrome illustrations for the cover, title vignette, and four other plates, all are from screen prints. This large 8vo book is 9 1/4" x 6 1/2". Unpaginated and 22 pp. The saddle stapled text block is glued into stiff French-flapped wraps. Published by Jay Macpherson's Emblem Press, Toronto. A poet herself, her Press published eight books by Canadian poets. Second free endpaper has the debossed professional seal and signature of Peter Dobush, noted architect from Montreal. Scarce among Nowlan's published works, this copy is in about Very Good condition.; Silk screen; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 22 pages.
