Das gesamte abendländischen Mittelalter kennt das Erscheinen von toten Herrschern, das Auftreten von Kaisern, Königen und Heiligen, die meist nicht unüberzeugend in die Rolle ihres Vorbildes schlüpften, um Wahlen zu beeinflussen, um Erbschaften zu erschleichen oder um Gerichtsurteile zu verfälschen. Das vorliegende interessante Werk handelt von diesen Betrügern, falschen Königen und Prinzen, darunter Philipp von Mazedonien, dem römischen Kaiser Nero, Heinrich V., Waldemar von Brandenburg, dem berühmten Wiedertäuferkönig Johann Bocold, von Johann Ziska von Böhmen, Amerdis, Alexander Balas, Demetrius von Russland, den Messias-Erscheinungen Bar Kochba und Sabbatai Ben Zwi, dem falschen Mustafa und vielen, vielen mehr.
