Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Keyboarding For Everyone is a system of learning which combines new learning with prior knowledge. KFE is applicable to almost everyone eight years old or older, with mobility in both hands, and a basic understanding of the English language. Many students are frustrated when attempting to write a story or report because their brain works much faster than their pencil. KFE can help with that, as typing, once learned, is often much quicker than handwriting. Keyboarding For Everyone is the result of seeing my students struggle with typing, using either 'hunt and peck' or 'thumb typing' on their phones, and trying to apply those skills to a computer keyboard. Every attempt to avoid 'asdf' drills was taken, replaced with words already learned and connecting that knowledge to the muscle memory of the fingers. KFE is intentionally kept to the basic alphabet and punctuation keys knowing most people need those over the numeric keys, although once the alphabet keys are learned the numeric keys are relatively easy to master. Keyboarding For Everyone sprang to life in a relatively short time after the idea of combining brain research with the teaching of finger muscle memory merged. I.E. when you type the word 'dad' your brain connects the movement of the fingers with every time you saw, heard, read, or experienced the word 'dad'. The brain does all that automatically. The typist simply supplies and applies the motivation for the learning. The ultimate goal of Keyboarding For Everyone is to learn to type while looking only at the monitor, I.E. touch typing, and not at the keyboard or fingers. KFE is appropriate for total beginners as well as those who already know how to type. One secretary, who only had time on the weekend to work with the left hand, complained on Monday that she needed to finish the program that night as her left hand was now much faster than her right hand, and she was making too many mistakes that day. Once she finished the book she was up to speed with both hands, much quicker, and more accurate than before. If you need to type for school, work, or that novel you've been pecking out one word at a time, Keyboarding For Everyone is for you. This item is printed on demand.
