Sewn as issued, pictorial wrappers. Very fine. St. Petersburg 2012. 8vo. 108 pp. Richly illustrated in colour. Captions bilingual in Italian and Russian. Leopold Bonafede was a roman brought to St. Petersburg by Emperor Nicholas to direct the mosaic, tile and ceramic factory that the prince wanted to establish as an annex to the Academy of Fine Arts. After his death his brother replaced him in the direction of these works.
