Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First edition. Small landscape 8vo. Unpaginated [35 pages of printed text]. Cloth-backed colour pictorial boards, a little marked and soiled, and rubbed at the corner tips. With sixteen colour plates, and a line or two of text to each adjacent leaf. Careful tape repair to the upper edge of the final leaf, and the whole re-cased retaining the original pictorial board, with new thread and endpapers. A nice bright copy of this uncommon nursery story featuring a two hippopotami and a guinea pig. The final two plates include black characters and the text, whilst exceedingly brief, manages to be exceedingly offensive at the same time.
