hardback. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. hardback, 12" x 9 1/2", a recent rebind in black half calf with marbled effect paper covered boards, lettered and ruled gilt to spine. The original paper wraps are preserved but the pictorial coloured front cover is damp stained and this shows through to the frontispiece and very lightly also to the title page, there is some occasional foxing else the remainder of the text is free of soling/marking. Bookplate of a previous owner to front pastedown. Illustrated throughout with b&w plates and illustrations to the text, xiv + 284pp.

Original illustrated card wrappers in almost new condition, bound in half blue cloth with marbled boards with gilt tiles to spine, von Rosen's Viking swastika insignia on the dedication page. The inscription on the half-tilte is from von Rosen to Orvar Karlbeck, railway engineer turned archaeologist, whose Syndicate supplied the world's museums and private collectors with Chinese Han Dynasty bronzes between 1928 and 1934. Karlbeck's book plate on the fpd with the signature of Marianne Karlbeck-Straat. 4to - over 9¾" - 12".

Soft cover. Condition: Fair. No jacket. Cover is rubbed, worn on edges and frayed along spine, with open tears, and previous owner's ink signature on front right corner, but text and images are clear and legible on front. Spine is cracked, but all pages are secure. Inside is tanned with age, but otherwise clean and unmarked.

This soft cover book is in poor condition but completely intact. The spine is gone. The cover is loose. Slight stain at the top of every page. Some pages are unopened. Previous owners name is stamped in small letter on the cover. The photographs in this book are exquisite. Text is in English. Size 9 inches by 12 inches.
