17, [1] pp. Last page blank. 8-1/2" x 5-3/4" Not in Lone. OCLC shows 13 institutional holdings, though the pamphlet is rather scarce in the trade. We attribute the piece to Browne based on this copy's inscription, Browne's well-documented work in the mining profession, as well as 2 similar works published around the time of this pamphlet, "Reports on the Mineral Resources of the United States; by Special Commissioners J. Ross Browne and James W. Taylor" [1867], and "Report of J. Ross Browne on the Mineral Resources of the States and Territories West of the Rocky Mountains" [1868]. A bit of edge darkening. A VG+ copy. Self-wrappers, sewn. Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve 1st edition (Sabin 15947). INSCRIBED by Browne, across the top of the pamphlet, to "Senator Ramsey, "with the compts of" with Browne's signature underneath. Senator Ramsey no doubt Alexander Ramsey, Republican Senator from Minnesota, 1863 - 1875.
