Pictorial DJ present (protected in mylar now) has been repaired with tape and seems also to have some scuffed spots color-matched with marker of some sort. It's a passable repair, but if you are after a perfect DJ, this is not one. No date on title page. Copyright page dated only1946. 244 pages. Inscription from the author on the front endpaper, 'To Grace R-- Burgey, from her old friend with warm regards - Rosse T. McIntire, vice-admiral US Navy, Washington DC February 10, 1949. written beside this inscription in a different pen, 'one of my favorite people + not forgetting FDR too.' On the rear endpaper, a large original black and white photo has been taped in showing a man and a woman in costumes that would not pass current standards for political correctness. The man wears a grass skirt over his pants, with kerchief and hat. The woman has lacy shawls and face covering and beads. Note on facing page says 'photograph taken at Vladivostok, Siberia Costume Party on Halloween, Oct 1919 Red Cross Barracks #7. US Navy Lt. Ross T.
