Quarter dark brown morocco, rebacked with original spine laid down, covers in dark green, black and gold veined antique spot marbled paper, spine gilt in six ruled compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second and fifth between triple gilt rules, the others with neoclassical blind and gilt tooling, top and fore-edges rough trimmed, lower edges uncut. Printed by A. Firmin Didot on thick cream wove paper. Collates [1 l.], 1 l. (title recto), pp. [i]-iv ( Discours préliminaire ), 54 ll. (Odes I-LXIV), 54 ll. plates numbered 1-54, [1 l.]; complete, the plates printed on rectos only, Girodet s blindstamp within each platemark in lower right corner. Covers lightly scuffed with light edgewear, original spine worn with one raised band missing, the rebacking leather glazed with glossy brown varnish, somewhat worn, some separation in gutters at endpapers, 5 cm split in rear endpaper at top gutter, light foxing and staining throughout, overall a very good volume, incisively printed on fine paper. Nancy, 1876-1877. In-folio de 4 feuillets manuscrits et 10 planches dont 5 à double page ; demi-basane verte de l'époque, dos lisse, plat supérieur portant la mention de "Ecole forestière. Epures. 1876" Louis de Roucy fut reçu à l'école forestière de Nancy en 1875. Il devint par la suite conservateur et inspecteur des eaux et forêts à Epernay dans la Marne. Le présent recueil d'étudiant se compose d'une page de typographie donnant la liste, en majuscule italique et minuscule, des lettres de l'alphabet et des chiffres de 1 à 10 ; d'une planche de deux essais de calcul géométrique, de 4 feuillets de calculs, d'un tracé géométrique, d'une très belle planche donnant les teintes conventionnelles de la cartographie de terrain, d'un essai, au crayon, de dessin cartographique, d'une carte topographique de la forêt domaniale de Champenoux, d'un plan d'ensemble des territoires d'Amance et de Champenoux, d'une suite de dessins techniques à l'aquarelle d'un pont en charpente, d'un aqueduc et d'une scierie. Plusieurs des dessins portent le cachet de l'école forestière de Nancy et la mention "vu par le professeur" avec les dates de mars 1876 et mars 1877. Enfin, Louis de Roucy a signé quatre de ses dessins et les feuillets manuscrits. Malgré quelques auréoles d'humidité, bon état général.
