Rendred into English for the benefit of our nation. FIRST ENGLISH EDITION 1659, 8vo, approximately 160 x 95 mm, 6¼ x 4 inches, "The small herbalist, or Book of plants" has separate dated title page, with imprint "printed by E.C." on leaf N3r, pages: [8], 1-224, 245-424, ending on signature Dd 2, LACKING FINAL 2 LEAVES FROM A BOOK OF RECEIPTS (pages 425-428), FACSIMILES INSERTED, jump in pagination at page 224-245 the same in all copies, collates as the copy in ESTC, register is correct, bound in full modern blind panelled calf, gilt ruled border to covers, raised bands and heavily gilt spine, new endpapers. Title page slightly soiled and age-browned, edges strengthened neatly on blank side with narrow strip of archival tape, slight creasing towards inner edge of title page, pages lightly age-browned, small ink smudge on A4r, no loss, some pale damp staining to lower part of B1-C2, and intermittently throughout, some upper margins slightly trimmed, tiny hole in Z2, no loss of legibility, occasional small light brown stain.
