Seller: First Place Books - ABAA, ILAB, Walkersville, MD, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Second printing. Original green cloth boards with lettering in black on the spine. In a complete dust jacket with art work by O.C. Bourne. This copy states "Overseas Edition." The copyright lists :"First Published June of 1928" and July of 1928 as the Second Impression. Perhaps all of the Second Impression was designated for export which, in the arcane world of book collecting, would make this a "first thus." In any case, a very nice copy of this rare bibliomystery. A gentleman named Mr. Merriman is strolling through Mayfair in London, stops by a Second Hand Book Shop, purchases a title, and discovers within the book the seeds of a murder plot all within a feuding family. Listed in Penzler's Bibliomysteries, pages 124-5. Some light soiling to the jacket and some rubbing to the spine. Near Fine / Very Good.
