Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. PHOTOGRAPHY IN THIS PROUD LAND AMERICA 1935-1943 FSA PHOTOGRAPHS 1973 HARD COVER. I am pleased to offer: In This Proud Land- America 1935-1943 as Seen in the FSA Photographs by Roy Emerson Stryker and Nancy Wood. As the flap of the dust jacket notes: During 1935-1943 Roy Emerson Stryker headed the Historical Section of the Farm Security Administration. He compiled history: some 270,000 photographs of American life. The photos in this book which I would propose should be required reading for every college freshman in America are from his private collection. This large hard cover book (9 ¼ x 12 ¼ inches 191 pages) was published by Galahad Books of New York City dated 1973. The book is bound in light gray boards with black titles on the spine and protected by a pictorial dust jacket. The book includes 200 black-and-white photographs of the real American history what it took for the people of America to get where the country is today and what many other peoples and countries around the globe are still experiencing. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is some very minor edge wear to the dust jacket including some tiny chips on the top edge. The top inside edge of the dust jacket is also a bit darkened. The hard covers are clean and bright and unbumped. Inside there is a faint stamped price on the front endpaper but that is the only mark I found in the book. The photos of the interior pages show some faint toning along the top edge of each page but this I believe is the ultra-critical eye of the digital camera; I cannot see it with my eyes. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
