This book provides a detailed examination of Federal land bank lending from 1950-1957, including characteristics of the outstanding land bank loans as of June 30, 1956. During this time period, land banks were responsible for approximately one-sixth of the outstanding farm mortgage debt, with their loans being most important in the Great Plains. In the 1950s, land bank loans represented 12% of the number and amount of farm mortgages recorded, increasing to 19% in 1956. The average size of the Federal land bank loan made in the 1950s was larger than that for other major lender groups, other than insurance companies. By the end of this period, land banks were refinancing more loans than they were making for new purchases. The authorâs analysis shows that land banks have typically charged lower interest rates than other lenders, and the terms of their loans are usually fairly long, with about 25% having terms of 30 years or more. Overall, this book provides a valuable resource of information on the land bank farm mortgage loan system from the 1950s through the mid-1950s. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Evanston, IL: Clark Publishing Company, 1954. The December, 1954 issue of Fate Magazine (issue no. 57) in Raymond A. Palmer's now-legendary paranormal-reporting non-fiction enterprise, which began with, in its first issue, Kenneth Arnold's cover account of flying crescents which "skipped like saucers across a pond", an event which, for whatever reason, kicked off the modern era of UFO events. After that, Fate introduced countless events which remain, to this day, fodder for paranormal documentaries and investigation. 12mo, illustrated perfect-bound wraps, 130 pp. A Near Fine copy - and this one is as near fine as near fine gets, with just touch micro-edgewear. See scans. Highest Grade, particularly for a periodical which often shows substantial wear from use. This issue features articles on The Golden Inca, Aldous Huxley, Dowsing, Precognition, Ghosts, the Mollasian Dogs, the Moodus Noises, and of course much else, including the standard Departments, always engrossing in themselves. Interior art and photography is largely uncredited. A piece of paranormal history, and an example of a unique branch of Americana, in very highly collectible condition. l49n.
