Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Assumed First Edition. Reddish cloth cover with black and gilt designs, patterned endpapers, and all edges gilt. The text block pages are in about near fine condition. There is heavy gutter wear to the inside joint, and the inner spine cloth has been re-glued to the text block. And the rear cover has heavy water damage (off-color mottling). About 10 1/4 x 8 with 570 pp. plus four pages genealogy section (1888 Marriage Certificate filled out). Also includes: THE LIVES OF THE PRINCIPAL SAINTS BY RE. ALBAN BUTLER with 335 pages, plus portraits of Supreme Pontiffs, American Archbishops and Bishops, and ADORATION OF THE SACRED HEART illustration. Then THE SACRAMENTS AND SACRAMENTALS ILLUSTRATED with 264 pages, plus four blank pages with inserts to place family pictures. Illustrated, with some in color. Thick book that weighs 5 lbs., 10 ounces. Undated, circa 1880. Scarce in fair condition. Size: 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Book.

Leather-covered Boards. Condition: Good. This is a 4.5 inch-thick heavy book which will probably require extra postage. Two complete works in one volume; "Life of the Blessed Virgin Mary." {described above; 524 p.} ; the 2nd book is "The life, doctrine, and sufferings of our blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as recorded by the four Evangelists" {by Rev. Henry Rutter; 570 p.} -- Each work has additional material, e.g. Meditations on the Litany of Loretto; each vol. also has a few very nice full-page engravings. The cover is embossed leather- covered boards. Corners and edges of the boards are rubbed. One metal hinge and two metal knobs with plates remain; no clasps.
